Second Draft Melisa Bilic 8th period TITLE: Shepherdess with her flock in a Barbizon landscape ARTIST: Charles-emilie Jacque Medium: Oil on Canvas Date: (1813-1894) The painting i was lookin at that cought my attention the most was the one above. The painting was of a woman in a deserted place with the greenest grass, light blue sky with a couple of clouds coming in like it was going to rain at any time, and shes just standing there watching her herd of sheep while they munch on the grass. I love this painting because it looks so peaceful like its just a place you can go to and relax and think about all the things that are going on in your life. It almost looks serreal because my everyday life is just full of cars, roads, stores, and everything is just filled up with industrial things and that place just looked like it was away from everything like you can just be in your own little world away from everything else. When i went back and visited Bosnia, there was this place behind the house we have there and it looked so much like the picture just because it was a empty field and you can just go out there and sit there and think and just enjoy things around you that arent man made ... its just really pretty. I think that everyone needs a place like that where they can go to be alone and just away from all their worries and problems, and just feel like everythings going to be alright because theres so much more to life then what we think there is. Everyone says i dont seem like the type of person who likes nature... that i seem more superfical but the truth is i love nature and i love going to deserted places that are just really beautiful, and i spend hours there with my sisters just thinking and enjoying the things around us. |
