The author of my book is George Orwell. The book I am reading is entitled

Animal Farm. My book is a fiction book with talking animals. The animals rebel against

Jones and his farm and how their food was low and they had to work to much to just

make food for Jones and his family. The animals were victorious in gaining control of the

farm. Then the pigs slowly take over the farm and slowly turn it back into just what it had

been when Jones had been there. The story takes place on a farm in the country side. Old

Major is the first pig and the ruler who gives all the other animals hope of a rebellion.

Snowball is the pig who actually put the rebellion into affect and started the whole rules

and laws to start their own farm. Then there’s Napoleon who kicks Snowball out of the

farm and takes over the farm and slowly he turns the farm back into what it had been with

Jones with him and his partner pigs getting lots of food for no work and the workers

getting little food for a lot of work.

The story starts with Old Major calling for a meeting of the animals where he tells

them of the way animals should live and that he only has a few years left to live, but that

the animals must carry out a rebellion one day in the future. So Old Major passes away

and one day when the animals had been starved for a few days straight the animals broke

into the food room and started eating the food. Jones and his men came out to fight them

off, but the animals were to strong for them. The animals drove them out of the farm and

declared what used to be called “The Manor Farm” into what they called “Animal Farm.”

Snowball took over as their new leader and served them good especially when Jones came

back with some men and guns and tried to take back his farm and Snowball took control

and stopped Jones from winning the fight.

Then Snowball gets an idea that they should build a windmill that symbolizes their

farm and could be used for hay storage. Napoleon, another pig who wanted to take rule,

said that was a stupid idea and Napoleon went on to plant fake evidence that Snowball

had been secretly trading with the other farms. Then Napoleon with his own guard dogs

that he had raised tried to kill Snowball and ended up only chasing him from the farm.

Napoleon then went along with building the windmill saying that it had been a good idea

but that Snowball had only wanted to build it so that he destroy it and join with the other

farms in the areas. So work on the windmill begins and they get closer to getting it done

and it is destroyed in a wind, but it is blamed on Snowball saying that he had came out and

destroyed it to get at them because he was working with the other farms to get Animal

Farm destroyed. Then Napoleon slowly changes some of the laws and gets it to let the

pigs get more privileges. Then another attack on animal farm is done by one of the

neighboring farms and they win but barely, but their just reconstructed windmill is

destroyed again which they immediately go back to working on for the third time.

Then Napoleon starts to trade with the neighboring farms and get more friendly

with all of them. He even has the over one night to take a look at the farm and see how

they liked it. The neighboring farms liked the way he was ruling over all the other animals

and how the hardest workers got the littlest food and the ones that did no work(like the

pigs) got the most food. Then Napoleon declares to all the farmers that he is changing the
name back to “The Manor Farm” and this makes it seem like it is becoming just like it

used to be except the pigs are now in control instead of Jones.

This book was confusing at parts and you would have to read it over again to see

what is trying to tell you. It does show though that when people are given to much power

they just have a need to get more and more until the have all the power possible. What

started as a rebellion ended them right back where they had came from. The pigs took all

the laws and changed them slightly so that they could get away with something that they

wanted without getting in trouble by the other farm animals. Napoleon was on a power

crave. He needed rule over everything in his mind
