At this moment in time, would you consider yourself a realist, romantic, or transcendentalist?
Crash! Boom! Explosion! All of these sounds echo around the world, every second another life ends. Although somewhat gothic and gruesome, it is very true. As human beings it is our nature to strive to become better than others, and in accomplishing this someone has to become worse than you. If it is a competition with money, then someone has to lose money for someone to gain money. This idea of how society works is called realism and is how I personally feel toward the world.
I strongly disagree with the romantic way of life because if everything ends happy then why should anyone do anything at all, why would people get jobs or help others if there is no negative outcome. The world needs a negative to have a positive. Although the type I have the most trouble comprehending is the transcendentalist, with a belief that everyone is good and that we should have love and peace not war and hate. This is the most flawed out of all of the types of writing. If everyone were good then what was so good about Adolph Hitler, was he that good if he chose to kill all those Jews? Even though I may not agree with what the transcendentalists say, I am most astounded by their ignorance of the fact that if there were no war they would not even have the right to speak their disagreements with the government.
