In this article the author examines the status of equal protection analysis of affirmative action in public employment. They begin by defending affirmative action as a necessary response to the continuing effects of discrimination. While acknowledging that affirmative action may stigmatize its beneficiaries, they contend that this effect is outweighed by the opportunities affirmative action provides.

In this article they speak about how affirmative action is a continuing need that equity management fills through positive management and leadership. Also how places such as The US Army, Xerox Corp, and Florida A&M University have all employed it with striking success, creating diverse institutions.

This is an early 90’s book. But this book gives views of affirmative action back then. It shows some of the dimensions of affirmative action and it also shows what they hoped to accomplish back then.

This article basically gives you some detail about affirmative action. It speaks about how in 1989 the Supreme Court ruled that all racial classifications, benign or otherwise,
demand the strictest judicial scrutiny. Then the author continues to speak about what were lower federal courts told to do and the turning point this decision made.

This book try’s to define what affirmative action actually is. Then it goes into discussing how the actual people feel about it and their views on the issue. After that it gives you philosophical discussions about affirmative action.
